Tea and Coffee
This year, WWU's industrial design seniors were challenged to design a twelve piece tea and coffee set. I focused on developing minimalist, art-deco-inspired forms that communicate purpose and create a sense of desire.
I have focused on developing my fluency with ceramics this year. I mixed my own clay body, made plaster molds, and mixed my own glaze for the final set.
I made dozens of models out of paper, wood scraps, and cardboard before turning to CAD. I used 3D printed models as molds for ceramic slip casting.
In addition to creating realistic display models for the WWU Industrial Design senior show at the end of the year, I created a seven fully functional ceramic tea sets, with extra sets of two cups.
